Salary Details: £12.36 per hour

Vacancy Type: Full time – 15 hour shifts, overnight sleep ins, and weekends.

We are looking for an engaging and positive Care Worker to join our Holbeach service where we support children and young people. Service users may have a complex needs, challenging behaviour, learning disabilities, and other emotional or social needs.

You should be passionate for wellbeing of children and young people, and have a caring and patient nature. You will also need to be able to commit to our rota system that includes day and evening shifts of 15 hours, overnight sleep ins, and weekends. More importantly, you will need to commit to being a significant positive influence in the lives of our young people.

No two days are ever the same, sometimes they may be challenging, but always positive.

What you will need to succeed:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A full clean UK driving licence.

What does a Residential Care Worker do?

  • Supporting children and young people with focusing on their education, behaviour, and physical and mental wellbeing to achieve a positive outcome.
  • Provide an experience of a childhood that they can reflect upon, and carry with them into adulthood.
  • Supporting young people to attend appointments, liaise with doctors and social workers on behalf of the young people trying to help them back into the community, helping with schoolwork, and assisting with any other outdoor activities.
  • Enabling young people to express their characters, feel safe, and enrich their lives through positive behaviours and planned activities.
  • To react in emergency situations quickly and efficiently, and to ensure the wellbeing of the young children/people and others.
  • You will be confident in complying with all regulatory requirements, i.e., Health and Safety, COSHH, RIDDOR and Accident Reporting.
  • You will be confident with support plans and risk assessments, and be able to complete a thorough handover to the rest of the team and management regarding the individual concerned in a positive, structured, and professional manner.
