Building partnerships with Local Authorities

The Children’s Cross Regional Arrangements Group (CCRAG) – The partnership consisting of 48 Local Authorities from the East, East Midlands, South-East and South-West Regions.


Benefits of being part of the CCRAG for local authorities:

  • Greater choice of placements for children
  • Service delivery being secured from the most appropriate Provider(s)
  • Accurate and safe placement decisions
  • More innovative placement decisions
  • A reduction in placement breakdown
  • Reduced costs and workload through shared monitoring visits
  • A shared consistent monitoring process
  • Improved partnership working between LA and Provider
  • Sharing good practice more easily between Local Authorities
  • Increased transparency and partnership working
  • The Beeches resource is also listed on the London Care Placements database.

London minimum criteria for resources to be listed are as follows:

  • The service is ‘outstanding’ or ‘good’ according to OFSTED and on a path to achieve excellence in delivery of outstanding outcomes for children and young people
  • Working well to achieve the best possible outcomes for each child
  • The provider is working constructively with London boroughs to secure the best possible service within a simple fee structure
  • The location of the resource is in or around London, exceptionally where service is not available close to London
  • No service provider will be registered if rated as ‘inadequate’
