Personal information is any information relating to you which can be used to identify you. This includes, but is not limited to, information directly about you (for example your name, address, and date of birth), information about your devices, and information about your interactions with our digital services such as our website.

Our website may contain links to third party websites and apps. We have no control over their privacy policies, and this Privacy Policy does not extend to cover your use of those services. We advise you to read their privacy information when you interact with them.

Data we collect

We currently collect and process the following types of information. Please note that the examples provided are not exhaustive.

Personally identifiable data

Your name, email address, home address, phone number, and date of birth.

Recruitment & HR data

Your CV, details about your work history, qualifications and education experience, your answers to our application questions, notes on the outcome of your application or interview, permission to work status, career preferences, work availability, National Insurance number, email communications metadata and content, history of criminal convictions or prosecutions (including DBS check results), and equality act information (gender, race and ethnic origin, and age group).

Where we carry out criminal record checks, including DBS checks, we do so on the basis of Article 6(1)(c) of the UK GDPR (legal obligation) and, where applicable, Article 6(1)(b) (contractual necessity). We also rely on Schedule 1, Part 1 of the Data Protection Act 2018, specifically the condition relating to employment, social security and social protection, as our lawful basis for processing this sensitive data.

Device data

Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, device settings, and geo-location data.

Preference data

Your cookie consent preferences and email marketing preferences.

Communications data

Your interactions with our communications (for example, whether you opened or clicked a link within an email), the content of communications between you and us, and the time, date and location of any access to our communications.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

There is no statutory or contractual requirement for you to provide personal information to us via this website.

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you when you contact us, use our website, apply for or enquire about a job opportunity, or access email communications from us.

We use the information we collect for recruitment and HR management, providing our care services, personalising your experience of our website, communicating with employees, partners and talent, analytics and market research, advertising and marketing, business development, operating and improving our website and digital services, internal record keeping, complying with our legal obligations, and security and fraud prevention.

Who we share this information with

Our subprocessors who help us provide our website, products and services; a parent, subsidiary or affiliate of our company; our employees, contractors and agencies who help us manage parts of our business; courts, tribunals, regulatory authorities and law enforcement agencies as required by law; third parties who assist us in providing information, products, services or direct marketing; and any entity that acquires our business or a substantial part of it.

When you have entered, or are about to enter, into a contract or transaction with us.

(c) Legal obligation

For example, this may be the result of a court order, criminal investigation, government request or regulatory obligation. This includes carrying out criminal record and DBS checks for staff working in our care and education settings. Where applicable, we may also rely on contractual necessity under Article 6(1)(b). We rely on the condition for employment, social security and social protection purposes under Schedule 1, Part 1 of the Data Protection Act 2018 as our lawful basis for processing this sensitive data.

In extremely rare circumstances, for the preservation of life.

This includes improving the quality of our products and services, keeping our stakeholders informed about our employment opportunities and services, complying with regulations that apply to us, and keeping your information secure.

Automated decision – making

We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Keeping your information secure

We have put policies and procedures in place to protect the personal data that we process. Although we try our best to protect the personal information we collect, we cannot guarantee that any transmission method, storage solution or protocol is completely secure. No approach can offer absolute protection.

How long we keep your personal data for

Job application data is securely destroyed six months after the completion of any application. General enquiry data is securely destroyed six months after the completion of any enquiry. If you apply for a role with us and agree that we may retain your details for future opportunities, we may hold your data for longer than six months. We may also keep information after our main processing task has expired where necessary to comply with legal, accounting or reporting requirements, and we may retain anonymised information for research or statistical purposes.

Children’s privacy

This website is a corporate site and is not designed for direct use by children. We do not knowingly or proactively collect personal information from children via this website. Our group does provide children’s care and education services, and we take children’s needs into account across our organisation.

International transfers of personal information

The personal information we collect is stored and processed in the United Kingdom and European Union, both covered by adequacy, and in the United States, which requires additional safeguards. Where we transfer personal information to countries without a valid adequacy agreement, we put in place additional safeguards, typically Standard Contractual Clauses or International Data Transfer Agreements. Our subprocessors

Microsoft Corporation (email account management, document creation and storage, based in the US, EU and UK) and Mailchimp (email marketing tool used to send our newsletters, based in the US). This list is not exhaustive.

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, and port your personal information, in each case subject to certain conditions under data protection law. You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights, and we will respond within one month of your request. Making a complaint

We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and respond without undue delay. If you remain dissatisfied, you have the right to raise your concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at www.ico.org.uk.
